হ্যাঁ, ৩১শে আগষ্ট, ২০২১ তারিখে Current Biology জার্নালে প্রকাশিত এক গবেষণা পত্রে এরকমই এক প্রজাতির বুনো কাকাতুয়া পাখি কথা উঠে এসেছে আছে যারা এমনটা করতে পারে। ইংরেজিতে এদেরকে বলা হয় Goffin’s cockatoos, এবং এদের বৈজ্ঞানিক নাম Cacatua goffiniana । এরা প্রচন্ড বুদ্ধিমান পাখি, এদের তুলনা করা হয় তিন বছর বয়সী এক মানব শিশুর মতো বুদ্ধিমান হিসেবে। এরা বিভিন্ন ধাঁধা সমাধান সহ আরও অনেক সমস্যার সমাধান করে নিজের বুদ্ধিমত্তার প্রমাণ দিয়েছে। খাবার খাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে কিছু প্রাণী টুল ব্যবজার করলেও, এই বুনো কাকাতুয়াদের রয়েছে টুলের সেট, যেমনটা মানুষ বিভিন্ন খাবারের ক্ষেত্রে বিভিন্ন টুল ব্যবহার কর, তেমনি তাদের রয়েছে বিভিন্ন কাজের জন্য ডেডিকেটেড টুল। যেটি খবই রেয়ার।

ইন্দোনেশিয়ার ইয়ামডেনা দ্বীপের এক পক্ষীশালায় গবেষকরা এমন বিষ্ময় কিছু পার্যবেক্ষণ করেন। তারা সেখানে দেখতে পান যে, খাচায় বন্দি এই জাতের কিছু বুনো কাকাতুয়া নিজেদের খাবারের জন্য কিছু সরঞ্জাম তৈরি করছে। ব্যাপারটা অনেক বিস্ময়কর ছিল।

পরবর্তীতে আরও গবেষণার জন্য গবেষকরা চলে যান সেই বুনো কাকাতুয়ার আবাস; ইন্দোনেশিয়ার তানিমবার দ্বীপে।

সেখানে যেয়ে গবেষকরা ৯০০ ঘণ্টার গবেষণার পর আশারূনুপ কোন ফল পেলেন না। তারপর আবার ১৫ টি পাখিকে খাঁচায় রাখা হল। তাদের পেঁপে এবং নারিকেল দেওয়া হলো খাবার হিসেবে। কিন্তু তারা কোন সরঞ্জামের ব্যবহার এক্ষেত্রে করেনি।

এরপর একদিন হঠাৎ গবেষকরা একটি ফল আবিষ্কার করেন যেটার খোলস ভেদ করা ঐ পাখির পক্ষে অনেক কঠিন। আর এই ফল তারা অনায়াসে খেয়েছে নিয়েছে, তার আলামত পাওয়া যায় গাছের নিচে পড়ে থাকা আংশিক খাওয়া ফলে। তারপর যখন এই ফল গুলো সেই বুনো কাকাতুয়াকে দেওয়া হয়েছিল, এবার দেখা গেল যে তারা এগুলো খাওয়ার জন্য বিভিন্ন সরঞ্জাম ব্যবহার করছে। তারা গাছের বিভিন্ন অংশ ব্যবহার করে কিছু আকৃতির সরঞ্জাম তৈরি করে যা দিয়ে ফলের বিভিন্ন অংশ খুব সুন্দর করে ভাগ করা হয়।

তবে এখানে একটা ব্যাপার উল্লেখযোগ্য যে, ঐ প্রজাতির সব কাকাতুয়া এটা পারেনা। কিছু কাকাতুয়া যারা পারে, তারা হয়ত তাদের নিজের আবিষ্কার বা বংশ পরম্পরায় শেখা। ঠিক আমরা কয়েকজন মানুষেরা যেমন কিছু বিশেষ কাজ জানি যেটা সবাই জানেনা, তেমনই।

গবেষণাটি গফিনের বুদ্ধিমত্তা এবং সরঞ্জামের ব্যবহার বোঝার জন্য বেশ কয়েকটি নতুন দুয়ার খুলে দেয়। পাখিদের সরঞ্জামগুলি ব্যবহার করা বা না করা শেখার সিদ্ধান্তগুলি কীভাবে প্রভাবিত করে তা দেখার এবং ভালোভাবে বোঝার জন্য বেশ অগ্রগতি ভুমিকা পালন করবে গবেষণটি।

গবেষকরা উপসংহারে বলেন, বন্য তোতাগুলিতে নমনীয় সরঞ্জাম ব্যবহারের উপস্থিতি অত্যাধুনিক সরঞ্জাম ব্যবহারের এবং প্রযুক্তিগত বিবর্তনের ফিলোজেনেটিক ল্যান্ডস্কেপকে পরিমার্জিত করে।

2. Konsistenz als positives Charaktermerkmal

Worin liegt der Nutzen von konsistentem Verhalten?

Bereits Mitte des Jahrhunderts waren sich bekannte Theoretiker wie Fritz Heider () und Leon Festinger () einig, dass das menschliche Streben nach Konsistenz als zentrales psychologisches Motiv betrachtet werden kann. Durch automatische Konsistenz vermeidet der Mensch intuitiv Brüche mit seinen früheren Handlungen und Entscheidungen. Aber warum? Seine Stärke bezieht dieses Motiv zu großen Teilen aus der Tatsache, dass Inkonsistenz in sämtlichen Kulturen als Persönlichkeitseigenschaft gilt, die niemand gerne besitzen möchte: Menschen, deren Aussagen, Handlungen und Einstellungen im Widerspruch zu einander stehen, werden von uns als verwirrt, falsch und unsympathisch wahrgenommen. Denn wer sich konsistent verhält, impliziert auch intelligentes Anpassungsvermögen an die Herausforderungen der heutigen Zeit: Wie bei allen Formen des automatischen Reagierens, geht es auch bei der Konsistenz letztendlich um Erleichterung. Erleichterung für das menschliche Hirn in seinem anstrengenden, modernen Alltag:

Sich eine Meinung zu bilden, bedeutet immer kognitiven Aufwand. Um diesen so gering wie möglich zu halten, gönnen wir uns den Luxus der Konsistenz: Anstatt uns täglich mit einer neuen Flut aus Informationen zu befassen, rufen wir gespeicherte Muster ab, verhalten uns dazu konsistent und fahren damit in den meisten Fällen sogar sehr gut, zum Beispiel an der Supermarkt-Kasse.

Kaum verwunderlich also, dass wir uns intuitiv genauso verhalten, auch wenn es eigentlich nicht das Vernünftigste ist. Doch woher kommt dieser Drang, nach &#;A&#; auch &#;B&#; zu sagen? Bereits unsere Bereitschaft &#;A&#; zu sagen, hängt oft mit dem Prinzip der Konsistenz zusammen: Cialdini konnte beweisen, dass Menschen, die mit dem Gedanken spielten, sich für ein stark kritisiertes Meditations-Seminar anzumelden, eher eine direkte Anmeldung vornahmen, wenn sie kurz vor der Kasse mit heftiger Kritik gegen das Seminar konfrontiert wurden. Es handelte sich dabei um Menschen, die auf Grund ihrer Bedürfnislage starkes Interesse daran hatten, dass dieses Seminar tatsächlich die Lösung ihrer Probleme darstellte.

Das Konsistenzprinzip kann also auch als eine Art Schutz fungieren, &#; als Schutz vor anderen Meinungen und manchmal vor der Stimme der Vernunft, ganz nach dem Motto: Ich bleibe bei meiner Entscheidung. Das ist viel angenehmer, als mich direkt wieder auf die Suche nach neuen Lösungen zu machen.
