Ingilizce Şimdiki Zaman Örnek Cümleler

Adından da anlaşılacağı üzere “Continuous” ifadesinden önce gelen “Present” ifadesi hem be+Ving kalıbında “be” yardımcı fiilinin (am, is, are)present şeklinde kullanılması gerektiğini hem de devam eden olayın geçiş zamanının “şu an” olduğunu ifade eder..

Olayın ne zaman başladığı ya da ne kadar devam ettiği önemli değildir. Sadece bir olayın konuşma anında devam etmekte olduğunu vurgular. O halde; bu zaman konuşma anında devam etmekte olan eylemler için kullanılır. Bu eylem bir süredir yapılmakta olan ama konuşma anında yapılmamakta olan bir olay da olabilir.

Olumlu yukarıda görüldüğü gibi am, is, are özne ile birleşebilir. 

Şimdiki Zamanın Olumsuz Cümle Kurulumu

Olumsuz cümlelerde “not” sözcüğünden yararlanılır. Bu sözcük, is ve are ile birleştirilerek kısaltılabilir, ancak am ile kısaltma yapılmaz.

Örneğin;

• I am not going.
• He isn&#;t going.
• We are’t going.

Şimdiki Zaman (Present Continuous Tense) Hangi Durumlarda Kullanılır.

Present Continuous Tense kendinden sonra kullanılan bir gelecek zaman ifadesi ile birlikte önceden planlanmış bir eylemin gelecekte yapılacağı anlamını verir.

Örneğin;

• We are having two exams this week.
  (Bu hafta iki sınav oluyoruz (olacağız).)
• We are spending next winter in Antalya.
  (Gelecek kışı Antalya’da geçiriyoruz (geçireceğiz).)
• Why are you going to İzmir next week?
  (Neden gelecek hafta İzmir&#;e gidiyorsun (gideceksin)?)
• I am not going to the party tonight, I have a lot to do.
  (Bu akşam partiye gitmiyorum (gitmeyeceğim), yapacak çok işim var.)
• We are starting to fix the roof of our house tomorrow.
  (Yarın evimizin çatısını tamir etmeye başlıyoruz (başlayacağız).)
• She is not going out with me next week.
  (Gelecek hafta benimle çıkmıyor (çıkmayacak).)
• We are giving a party at the end of the semester, aren&#;t we.
  (Dönem sonunda parti veriyoruz (vereceğiz), değil mi?)

Present Continuous Tense always, constantly, forever gibi zarflar ile birlikte sürekli tekrarlayan ve genelde bizi rahatsız eden eylemler için kullanılır.

• Some students are always coming late to class.
  (Bazı öğrenciler daima derse geç geliyorlar.)
• The baby is crying constantly and it makes me angry.
  (Bebek sürekli olarak ağlıyor ve bu benim sinirimi bozuyor.)
• The doctor is examining more than seventy five patients every day.
  (Doktor her gün yetmiş beşten fazla hastayı muayene ediyor.)
• He is always asking those stupid questions.
  (O daima aptalca sorular soruyor.)
• My little son is always watching the same cartoon.
  (Küçük oğlum daima aynı çizgi filmi seyrediyor.)
• Why are you always accusing your friends of cheating during the exams?
  (Sen neden daima arkadaşlarını sınavda kopya çekmekle suçluyorsun?)
• I don&#;t like them, because they are always complaining about my proposals.
  (Onlardan hoşlanmıyorum, çünkü sürekli önerilerimden şikâyet ediyorlar.)

Not: 

1.Sonu -e ile biten fiillere -ing eklerken -e kaldırılır. 

• He is coming. (come)
• She is tuning. (type)

2.Ünlü + Ünsüz şeklinde biten tek heceli fiiller -ing alırken son harfleri ikileşir. 

• He is running. (run)
• She is swimming.(swim)

3.Bazı fiiller Present Continuous Tense ile kullanılmaz. Bu filleler “state verbs” olarak adlandırılır. Şimdiki zaman yapıları eylemlerin fiziksel ve görsel olarak yapıldığını gösterir. Bu sebeple soyut düşünmek, anlamak, sahip olmak ve sevmek gibi soyut fiiller continuous yapısında kullanılamaz.

Mental  State (Mental (Zihinsel) durumları anlatmak için fiiller)

Know, realize, understand, recognize, believe, mean, feel, need, want, forget, suppose, think, imagine, remember, doubt, desire.

Örneğin;

• He is wanting to buy a new car. ❌
• He wants to buy a new car.       ✅

Emotional State (Duyguları belirten fiiller)

Love, like, fear, prefer, hate, dislike, mind, surprise, care, appreciate, amaze, envy, please, astonish 

Possession State (Sahip Olma)

Have, belong, possess, own.

Sense, Perception (Duyu ve Algılama ile ilgili fiiller)

Taste, smell, hear, feel, see.

USE

► Present Simple for routines, habits and actions happen in general.

We use the present simple to talk about routines, habits and actions that happen in general.   

- I watch the news on TV everyday. 

- It usually snows in Norway in winter. 

- Water boils at degrees celcius. 

- Excuse me? Do you speak Turkish?

► Present Continuous for actions happening now or around the time of speaking.

We use the present continuous to talk about actions happening at the moment or around the time of speaking. The action is not finished yet. 

- I’m watching a film now.   

- It is snowing at the moment. Let's go out and play snowball. 

- The water is boiling. Please turn it off.

- That man must be from Turkey. He is speaking Turkish. 

►We use Simple Present for a permanent situation.

‘I play tennis’ tells us that playing tennis is something the speaker always does. It is part of a routine or habit. We can call this a permanent situation.

- We live in London. 

- Suzie works in a bank as a manager.

- My students are really hardworking. They study very hard all year long. 

► We use Present Continuous for a temporary situation. 

‘I am playing tennis’ tells us that the speaker is playing tennis right now. Soon the game will be over. We call this a temporary situation.

- I got a job in Turkey last year and I am living in Istanbul now.

- My sister is working in a cafe in summer holiday. 

- We have exams next week. So we are studying really hard in these days.

These words can help you know if the sentence needs simple present or present continuous:

Remember that the adverb comes before the main verb in the sentence.

Always: I always have a shower before I go to bed.

Often: Her brother John often comes shopping with us.

Sometimes: You sometimes visit your grandma, don’t you?

Occasionally: It occasionally rains in summer in Turkey.

Seldom: They seldom come home late. 

Never: Turkish people never wear shoes inside.
