The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between teachers' self-compassion and professional burnout according to their age, gender, marital status, year of service and type of school. Relational survey model was used in the study. The sample of the study consisted of 400 teachers selected by random sampling method among the teachers working in Erzin, Dörtyol, Payas and Iskenderun districts of Hatay province in the 2018-2019 Academic Year. The data were collected by Maslach Burnout Inventory-Educators Survey (MBI-ES) developed by Ince and Sahin (2015) and the Turkish version of “Self-Compassing Scale (SCS)” developed by Deniz, Kesici and Sumer (2008). In the analysis of the data, by the help of SPSS Windows 22 softwares. “Indepented Samples T”, ”One Way Anova”, “Multiple Regression Analysis”, “Pearson Moment Product Correlation Analysis” and “Tukey” tests were used. According to the results obtained analysis; there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between the burnout sub-dimensions of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization and selfcompassion which is negative and statistically significant. In the addition, while the level of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization in creases, the level of self-compassion decreases and while the level of self-compassion in creases as the level of personal achievement in creases. In the mean time; the mean size of desensitisation is higher in male teachers, and the mean size of personal achievement is higher in female teachers. The average size of the desensitization of the teachers in the 25-29 age group is higher than the 30-34 age group. Teachers in middle schools have a highermean size of desensitisation compared to primary school teachers. While the average of single teachers' sense of desensitization and emotional exhaustion are higher than married teachers, married teachers have higher levels of self-compassion than single teachers.
