PU/PE

A prancha conhecida como PU, ou prancha comum, é feita com bloco de poliuretano, longarina de madeira, revestida com fibra de vidro e resina poliéster. Essa opção é a mais barata do mercado, consequentemente mais frágil e mais pesada, pois amassa muito fácil, além de amarelar com o tempo. Caso sofra um impacto, tende a trincar no local e requer bastante cuidado para evitar consertos frequentes. Normalmente, esse tipo de construção é utilizada para desenvolver e testar novos modelos de pranchas de surf. Considerando o baixo investimento necessário, os surfistas usam para experimentar, e caso gostem, mandam fazer em uma construção mais forte com materiais mais nobres.

EPS/Epóxi

EPS é poliestireno expandido (bloco de isopor), a resina epóxi é o revestimento para blocos EPS. Essa prancha é popularmente conhecida como Epóxi, EPS ou prancha de isopor. Feita com bloco de poliestireno e longarina de madeira, revestida com fibra de vidro e resina epóxi. Essa é a segunda opção mais barata, e apesar de amarelar tanto quanto a PU, é menos frágil, pode ser um pouco mais leve e é um pouco mais resistente, portanto amassa menos. É uma concorrente direta da prancha de PU.

A MAGIC BOARDS trabalha com todos esses materiais e formas de construção. Porém, essas duas opções não levam a logo da marca Powerlight, apenas o do Shaper, porque não chegam a ter nenhum diferencial tecnológico. Portanto, são consideradas como pranchas de surf comuns. Ghost

A prancha Ghost é construída com bloco de EPS de alta densidade, sem longarina e revestida com tecido de fibra de vidro importado multi-direcional e resina epóxi. O resultado é uma prancha de surf branca, mais forte e mais leve do que as comuns. Além de amassar pouco e ser bastante resistente a impacto. Uma desvantagem, porém, é que essa opção também amarela um pouco com o tempo.

Carbon Rail

A prancha Carbon Rail é construída com bloco de EPS de alta densidade, sem longarina e revestida com fibra de vidro por cima e por baixo. Além de ter fibra de carbono nas bordas, bico e rabeta, envolvida parabolicamente. Amassa e amarela como uma prancha comum de epóxi, mas tem as bordas, bico e rabeta muito mais fortes contra impactos, além de uma flexibilidade alucinante que só o carbono proporciona. As pranchas de surf com essa construção são conhecidas como prancha de surf baratas.

Lâminas de Madeira

A famosa prancha de surf Powerlight com lâminas de madeira é o nosso carro chefe. Sem dúvida alguma, é nossa melhor relação entre peso e durabilidade, além de custo-benefício. É construída com bloco de EPS, revestida de sanduíches de lâmina de madeira e fibra de vidro, com resina epóxi. O resultado é uma prancha de surf mais leve e mais forte do que todas as anteriores e com uma flexibilidade excelente.

Kevlar

As nossas pranchas de surf com kevlar são construídas assim como as de madeira. Com bloco de EPS, revestida de sanduíches de lâminas de madeira e fibra de kevlar (aramida) com resina epóxi. O resultado é um produto tão leve e forte quanto os de lâmina de madeira, só que mais flexível. Especial para surfistas leves que gostam de pranchas mais volumosas e não querem perder a magia da prancha flexível.

Carbono

As nossas pranchas de surf de carbono são construídas assim como as de madeira. Constituídas de bloco de EPS, revestidas de sanduíches de lâminas de madeira e fibra de carbono com resina epóxi. O resultado dessa combinação de materiais nobres é um produto leve, forte, mais rígido do que os outros e com o retorno da flexão muito rápido, o que permite ao surfista alcançar muito mais velocidade. Essa prancha, normalmente é recomendada para quem já está em um nível mais avançado e consegue fazer manobras mais rápidas.

A anatomia da prancha

Agora que você já sabe os materiais usados nas pranchas, precisa entender como elas são montadas, e quais os shapes. Começando pelas medidas, que são feitas no sistema americano de pés (30,48 cm) e polegadas (2,54 cm). O tamanho de uma prancha de surf impacta diretamente na capacidade de flutuar, e é normalmente relacionado com a altura do surfista que vai usá-la, associada ao shape do modelo. 

Por exemplo, se o atleta tem 1,75m de altura, deve procurar uma prancha com 6’4” (seis pés e quatro polegadas), apesar de não ser uma verdade absoluta, pois depende do nível de surf em que o esportista está. Existe uma regra geral que pode ser levada em consideração, que supostamente quanto mais alto, pesado ou iniciante você for, maior deve ser a prancha de surf, porque a sua flutuabilidade será melhor. Além das medidas, como largura, altura e volume, as pranchas de surf são definidas de acordo com as partes que as compõem. Dentre elas estão o fundo (bottom), o frente (deck), a rabeta, e as quilhas. As últimas vão ser explicadas mais adiante em uma sessão exclusiva.

O fundo é, basicamente, a parte que fica em contato com a água, e pode ter vários formatos, como côncavo, côncavo duplo, reto, com canaletas, e o fundo em V. Já o deck, é o local onde o surfista pisa, e possui duas superfícies mais usuais, que são a Flat e a Dommie Deck. A rabeta da prancha é uma das partes mais importantes, e também pode ter diversos formatos, como round tail (arredondado), diamond tail (em formato de diamante), fish tail (rabo de peixe), pintail (afinado), squashtail (redondo com o final reto), squaretail (quadrado), e o swallowtail, que é parecido com o fish, mas mais reto.

As quilhas

A quilha é a parte da prancha que serve para dar estabilidade e direcionamento para o surfista. Essa parte é muito importante, porque fica em uma posição que tem maior contato com a água. As quilhas maiores são mais velocidade e tração, só que dificulta para performar manobras, enquanto as menores não proporcionam tanta velocidade, mas te dão mais liberdade para trabalhar as manobras.

Tanto o tamanho quanto a flexibilidade do material e o design influenciam no deslizamento da prancha de surf na água. O posicionamento que o shaper define para a quilha no corpo da prancha, tem um impacto direto, e pode a deixar mais dura, veloz ou solta. A inclinação lateral, quanto mais acentuada facilita nas curvas, e quanto mais reta, deixa a prancha correr para frente, gerando mais velocidade. Considerando que você pode misturar diferentes modelos de quilhas para uma mesma prancha, e que essa pode ter desde uma (monoquilha) até quatro quilhas (quadriquilha), vai ver que existe uma diversidade de opções.

Prancha Longboard

O segundo degrau para os iniciantes no surf é utilizar uma prancha Longboard. Também é um modelo volumoso, como a prancha  Stand-Up, porém mais estreito. Dificilmente você vai conseguir ficar em pé sem o movimento das ondas, sem velocidade. Mas, é muito fácil de remar, e tem bastante espaço para você escolher onde se posicionar para ficar estável.

Prancha Funboard

A prancha Funboard é uma prancha de aproximadamente 7 a 8 pés de comprimento. É um modelo um pouco menor que a longboard e a stand-up, ainda que seja largo e volumoso. Com ela, fica mais difícil ficar em pé e estável. Se você já tiver alguma experiência no surfe, ela é uma boa escolha. Porém, se você não tiver e optar por começar com ela, vai ser mais difícil remar sozinho e se equilibrar.

Prancha Minilong

A prancha Minilong é um modelo de bico bem redondo e corpo largo. Ou seja, você vai usar uma remada de longboard em uma prancha pequena. Essa categoria já é um degrau acima do Funboard, um pouco mais avançado. Se você for leve ou já tiver habilidade para ficar em pé, pode ser uma boa opção. 

Agora, vale ficar ligado que se você começar com essa, pode ser que não dê certo. Isso porque você estaria pulando alguns degraus de evolução. Na tentativa de avançar mais rápido entre as pranchas, você vai acabar ficando preso nessa por muito tempo, sendo que com pranchas mais iniciantes, você gastaria algumas semanas, e seguiria adiante muito mais rápido. Comece pelas mais básicas e a migração para uma prancha menor vai ser muito mais fácil.

Pranchas para competição

Se você quer competir profissionalmente no surf, precisa dominar a arte do esporte com maestria, e deve escolher a prancha de surf certa para fazer isso. Faults without display on the console
Fault Remedy
Appliance cannot be started Seat switch not operated, sit down on the seat.
The machine operates only if the operator is seated on the seat.
Bring the safety switch into the "1" position.
Set the programme switch to "OFF". Wait for 10 seconds. Set the programme selector switch to previous
function. If possible, drive the appliance on level grounds only. Check parking brake and foot brake if
necessary.
Take the foot off the accelerator pedal prior to switching on the safety switch. If the fault recurs, call the
aftersales service.
Check battery; charge it, if needed
Insufficient water quantity Check fresh water level, refill tank if necessary.
Check hoses for blockages; clean if required.

Clean the fresh water filter.
