HOW TO PRAY IN 4 EASY STEPS

Prayer is simply interacting with God, your creator and source of life. It’s a way of communicating our thoughts, desires and needs to God. Or simply put prayer is talking to God.

Are you finding it difficult to pray? Or you really don’t know how to pray to God? Is your prayer life going down? In this post I am going to share with you four (4) easy steps that will help you pray easily, simple and will help you enjoy prayer, helping you to do this daily.

Step 1 Thank God for who he is.

Psalm (KJV)

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Always remember to start your prayer thanking God. This is very important because thanksgiving is a key that opens the spiritual realm.

When you start your prayers with thanksgiving it opens your heart and positions you well for an encounter with God.

Prayers started with thanks giving draws God’s attention to you. Remember When King Solomon offered a sacrifice to God at Gibeon.

1 kings (KJV)

4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, ask what I shall give thee

You see, when King Solomon offered the sacrifice it drew God’s attention to him and from Leviticus we see that thanksgiving is a form of sacrifice.

Leviticus

Besides the cakes, he shall offer for his offering leavened bread with the sacrifice of thanksgiving of his peace offerings.

Step 2 &#; Tell God How You Feel

Don’t hide your feels, don’t hide anything from God. Tell him how you feel, tell him what your problems are. Let him know why you have come to him. King Solomon told God his problems. He told him why he has come to him.

1 Kings (KJV)

7 And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

8 And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

Also, Paul encourages us to tell God all our worries. He told us not to be anxious and not to be worried but we should talk to God about it.

Philippians (KJV)

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Another reason we have to tell God how we feel is because Jesus has the power to solve all our problems.

Matthew (KJV)

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

So, don’t worry at all tell him everything, Jesus will give you rest to all your problems.

Step 3 – Ask God for Guidance or Direction

God is all-knowing; therefore, he has the solution to the problem. He knows the path that can lead you out of the situation you are in. Ask him for the way out.

Isaiah (KJV)

Thus, saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Again, the Holy Spirit guides and leads us into all truth.

John (KJV)

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Step 4 – End Prayers with Thanksgiving

Anytime end your prayers with thanksgiving, because it is a form of expressing your faith to God. This really helps in bringing answers quickly to us. We are to thank him because anytime we pray he hears us and know he will answer.

1 John

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Thank Him because he is a rewarded and He will definitely reward you.

Hebrews

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

In summary, how to pray in four 4 easy steps are:

Thank God for who he is

Tell God how you feel or why you have come to him

Ask him for guidance or direction

Thank him for hearing you.
