Öz: Building a good society and maintaining its existence is related to the health of the individuals in that society. Values education should be perceived as a necessity in societies that want to secure their future to raise individuals who can think and behave in a healthy way and therefore lead a healthy life; these values should also be given to target individuals from an early age by using appropriate means of transmission. One of the ways of these values being acquired is using children’s songs. Studies on children’s songs have shown that songs that provide children with many desired achievements together are a powerful tool for transmitting values. It is important to examine the songs used in cartoons, alongside children’s songs, and to determine the values in these songs in order to conduct efficient and effective studies in the relevant field. Accordingly, this study aims to determine the values expressed in cartoon songs. The study titled “Transfer of Values Through Cartoon Songs: The Case of Niloya” was prepared using qualitative research methods and techniques. Niloya, one of the cartoon series that children watch the most, was analysed within the context of the root values determined by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, and answers were sought to the questions of which values are included in the songs in the series’ episodes and how often these values are used. Based on the findings obtained from the content analysis, justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, and helpfulness were identified as root values, and it was determined that all of these values were emphasized in 68 of the song lyrics examined in the study through the themes of the songs. The findings showed that the most emphasized value in the lyrics was patriotism, which was followed by love, responsibility, friendship, self-control, patience, helpfulness, and respect. The values justice and honesty were emphasized the least. The emphasis on the sub-values examined under each root value was not widely distributed and the emphasis was concentrated on certain values. In addition, the sub-values being humble, treating others the way you want to be treated, being generous, taking responsibility for the consequences of your own actions, solidarity, valuing other people’s personalities, acting equally, making sacrifices, apologizing when necessary, having confidence, being trustworthy, cooperating, sharing, being loyal, keeping word, caring for the community, being consistent, being loyal, and helping others were not emphasized at all.
